Learning Frameworks

Early year's education is based upon children modifying their experiences to accommodate individual learning agenda/goals. Walker's Private Day Nursery pursues The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. This enhances children's progressions through age/stage development areas, preparing them for entry into school.

Structure of the Nursery

The routine adopts 'inclusive' values and partnerships. Childhood experiences and play is supported and planned through individual learning journeys. These are complimented through an explorative, free flow play learning environment. Children play and work with others, with activities levelled correctly for everyone to achieve collaboratively.

The daily routine is largely based around free flow play sessions where children are free to explore the inside and outside environment all day. This ensures the learning which transpires is child led. These experiences are supported by the key person who facilitate's individual learning styles and extends each child's learning to reach their highest potential.

Funded Childcare

Children aged 3 - 4 years are eligible for funded childcare, this is currently 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. Children may receive funding the term after their child's 3rd birthday. Funded (term time only) sessions are available for afternoon sessions only. The nursery is currently looking to offer the 30 hour funding from September 2017 however this is subject to a waiting list and on a 1st come 1st reserve basis.

Annual review

Parents, children and staff are encouraged to share their views and suggestions annually. This helps the setting reflect on procedures and helps drives the setting to continuously improve / adapt it's services based upon the people who use, play or work at Walkers Private Day Nursery.
